We recently just saw The Matador starring Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear. It was good. Interesting story with a good mix of quirky humor. Of course I also drank 3/4 a bottle of Cabernet before I watched it so I was feeling pretty good to start with.
Anyway, red wine or not, I'd recommend it.
8 out of 10.
Thread is back up, huh?
I also enjoyed The Matador and I did not have 3 to 4 bottles of Cabernet.
I liked Anchorman, it was good for a few laughs. And yes, Applegate is still a hottie.
Pacman wrote:Thought I'd revive this one to ashamedly admit I finally got around to seeing Anchorman the other night. I'd heard it was lame, and even tho Will Ferrell makes me laugh, I'd not rented it yet.
But finally I saw it, and yeah, it was pretty weak, but had enough laughs to make me okay with investing the 90 minutes into watching it.
But the one thing I came away from, and felt inclined to post here about is: Christina Applegate is still HOT! Guys, Kelly Bundy has grown into a smokin hot 30-something woman.
its a documentary about hardcore punk in the US from 1980-1986.
2.5/4 stars
the movie has 2 components, old concert footage and lots of interviews. If you're not a fan of punk or don't have a special place in your heart for Blag Flag, Bad Brains, SSD, etc., don't bother seeing this movie. There's no flash to the movie, simply imformative storytelling. If you are not sure you are interested, you probably aren't. Narrow target audience.
I'll be watching both or one of The Prestige and The Last King of Scotland tomorrow.

I saw this on cable the other night and was not impressed. Actually I disliked it alot. Brosnon as a screw-up assassin was interesting but that's about the only good thing in the film. 2/10
My girlfriend dragged me, ok? Reluctantly I might add, but I always told her that if the movie doesn't get at least an 80% on rottentomatoes.com, I'm not wasting my money in the theater. This crapumentary got a 90 something and it was about as good as a 90 minute documentary on Lifetime.
Anyone see the 40-Year-Old Virgin? Heard it got good reviews...
Holy bump batman!
The above post was made by me on September 7, 2005. This is an ongoing project in post bumpification I'm conducting.
Just to update; March of the Penguins was, in fact, boring. 40 Year Old Virgin was hilarious. And I'm still with the same girlfriend, but not engaged. Which begs the question; why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free? Mooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Hey I've gone 7 years without buying the cow. Nothing wrong with that. Free milk = under-rated
