Seattle has been doing everything they can to protect Felix, such as not letting him throw his slider in the minors. I'm just afraid they'll be holding him back for the next few years, keeping his true potential hidden.

Well, I don't necessarily think that bringing him up to pitch for a crappy team coming off an injury (however minor) is protecting him at all. Plus, he did have some control issues at AAA and could've used some more work at that level but that's just my opinion.

I love it when guys like this are added late in the year. Unless the guy that's held on to the #1 priority starts blathering about how he strategized for this day to come, there's usually an eerie quiet on the message board. I believe the reason for this is that every guy with waiver priority in the top ten are desperately hoping everyone ahead of them are asleep at the wheel and they can snatch him.

This was essentially my point in one of the other Felix threads. After all that, it seems like we essentially agree.
