Eric Chavez- offseason surgery

Postby Philliebuster » Thu Aug 04, 2005 2:59 pm

This came out of nowhere, and gave me a sinking feeling...however I did notice he adjusted the way he threw the ball from third....he did hit a homer today, so it doesn't appear to be bothering him at the plate.....please play to the end of this season Eric....please.

Rotoworld:Eric Chavez will have surgery on his throwing shoulder after the season.

His shoulder has bothered him all year and is really affecting his throws to first right now, but he doesn't want to DH or shut it down with the A's rolling right now. ''If we'd kept on playing like we were the first two months, I would have had the surgery already,'' Chavez said. ''I wouldn't be playing right now.''

He's had the same problem for 2 or 3 years now and have been playing through it all so don't be worried, he'll definitely make it 'til the end of the season.

Yes this is old news. He said he'd need surgery in offseason about 2 months ago. It only affects his throwing, which doesn't apply to most fantasy leagues. He's been dealing with it for a couple years now and hasn't affected his swing at all.
