What a joke! Mazzilli may be young and still feeling his way a little, but the O's failings are far from his fault. It's not his fault that double-headed monster of a front office doesn't have the know-how to make a decent major league trade. Nor is it his fault that Angelos preferred to sit on his hands this offseason and have a pity party over the Nats rather than sign an ace.
The fans in Baltimore know the truth and that's why they've yet to come out to the Yard in significant numbers again this year.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders how much is has to do with deflecting some attention off Raffy

It might play a small part, but I've heard rumblings about Lee getting the boot for quite some time. It's a shame because I like Mazzilli and feel he did probably as good of a job as could have been done with that roster.

Don't forget that Mazzilli wasn't allowed to pick any of his coaches. They set this guy up to fail. Angelos is a complete moron. I would hate to have this guy running my team.
In one
article it said that Tejada was getting sick of Mazz. I still think management has to put some faith in the manager by giving him a contract extension if they want him to keep the respect of his players. But again the blame goes to Angelos because the GM doesn't have a contract past this year too.
Tough luck Lee.

He was not very impressive as a manager. I'm sure he will get a shot somewhere but...

Anyone think that the Os have a shot at Frank Robinson, i heard from a friend that "whomever" buys the Nats may reformat the organization which may put the Ole O on the market. i would love to see a former Orioles star in the dugout. But for some reason it hasn't happened in the past...
