Well if they play 500 against each other, I could very well see them all finishing below 500. SD is 2 under and falling like a brick. Ariz 5 under. The next team is the Dodgers at 11 under. Realisticallty, barring some large winning streak, only 2 teams have a shot to finish over 500, SD and Ariz. And I could see both playing 500 or worse ball the rest of the way without much sweat. Of course a 10 game winning streak by someone could change all this, bu tin that division?
The NL West continues shopping for the proper laugh track. The San Diego Padres led the division at midweek by a game over Arizona despite a 52-55 record.
The division standings since June 1:
Colorado 24-32 San Francisco 22-34 Los Angeles 22-34 Arizona, 22-35. San Diego 19-36.
Too bad the Rockies got off to that horrible start..
The division is so bad that it's actually interesting. Teams that are awful like LA and ARI actually have a chance to make the playoffs. Despite the fact that most of these teams will likely go nowhere once they make the playoffs, it could be one of the tighter races in baseball come late September.

Can anyone help?
Also - the Padres are a terrible, terrible team.
The 1973 Mets went 82-79 to capture the NL East title. They upset the 99-63 Reds. They had a 3-2 World Series lead against the defending champion A's but lost in seven games.
Thanks. I thought it was the Mets, but wasn't 100% sure and didn't want to throw anyone off the scent. Is that the lowest of all time (in a non-strike-shortened season)?
