Where will Utley go in drafts next year?

Postby duckbillgates » Wed Aug 03, 2005 6:55 pm

With 2B as thin as it is and the numbers he's putting up this year, how early will he go?
Is there fear of the dreaded "breakout season" or is he highly touted enough as a prospect to think that he's the real deal?
Being in the lineup even against lefties hasn't sunk his BA as much as many were predicting. He's essentially become a 5-category middle infielder.
Likewise, is he somebody people are thinking about as a keeper for next year?
Thoughts?
"All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated and well supported in logic and argument than others."
— Douglas Adams (1952-2001)

being from philly I can tell you this kid is for real. Ask any philly fan and they'll probably tell you Utley is there favorite player. Definately a keeper. I don't know what his ceiling for production would be, but he's got the speed, the power, and hits a very nice average.

More proof that Philly fans are tremendous idiots. After what Abreu has done for you for the past 7 years, Utley is your favorite player?

That's like saying that Cub fans should have all had Sosa as their fav for a while. I hated him and wanted him gone in 2001. Abreu plays with no fire. Utley is gritty. Much more to respect there.
