Has Anyone Seen This Before???

Postby uucrook3d » Wed Aug 03, 2005 11:29 am

ok in my keeper league i had a trade go through initally. i sent vmart, pierre, and utley for mcab and kendall. both sides were happy with the trade and he accepted my offer. on the day where the trade was supposed to change our rosters, i get an email saying the trade could not be processed because it would put him over the roster limit. now am i crazy or if that was the case, i wouldnt have been able to even offer it right? when he accepted he should have been prompted to drop someone right? anyways, i thought maybe it had been vetoed because our veto system is to send an email to the commish. i have emailed the commish multiple times but have gotten no response. any of you guys seen anything like this before?

I'm not sure, but i'd guess when they prompted him on which player to drop, he canceled. The commish should be able to correct that problem for you.

Ive had this happen to me. I was doing a 2 for 1 trade so I needed to drop a player in order to accept the trade. But after the trade was accepted it was still a few days untill it would be processed, so I picked up a guy to fill in the empty spot in the meantime. I didnt realize for Yahoo you have to drop that guy 2 days before the date the trade would be reflected in your lineup. I planned on dropping the guy the night before the trade would go through, and the trade auto-vetoed itself.

Here is what happened. The other guy had an empty roster spot that allowed him to give 2 players and take 3. He filled that empty roster spot after he accepted the trade with either someone off his DL or picking up a FA.

These computer programs can be pretty finicky. This is a situation where you should get the commissioner to step in, it seems there was a deal here, you shouldn't lose it because of a mechanical glitch.
