I know Corey is batting below the Mendoza line at triple A, but do you think the Cubs should bring him up for his D in center?

With Nomar coming back, the lineup could be something like this.

Lawton
Walker
Nomar
D. Lee
A. Ram
Burnitz
C. Patt
Barrett
Pitcher.

We don't really need C. Patt leading off anymore, so he could hit 7th and try to drive in some runs.

Hairston isn't exactly hitting the snot out of the ball.

Am I just really off base with this?

I don't recall Patterson being known for his defense, but I suppose I could be wrong. I think they'd have to bat him behind the pitcher though. At this point, I've got to think that Prior or Zambrano would be better hitters than Patterson. :-b

At this point I think Corey will be a September callup, if he proves he can hit (which seems unlikely right now looking at his AAA performance) he'll probably play some CF. He is good defensively but not worth the decline we'd get from Hairston in CF offensively. There's also the possibility of putting Burnitz or Lawton in CF where both have experience and playing Murton in LF.

I can't see him being called up with the way he's hitting in AAA; not until September.

He's a decent defensive CF, but not great. He has speed and an decent arm, but he has never gotten a really good jump on the ball. Not good enough D to compensate for his bat at this point.

And as another poster said, if you want Hairston out of the lineup, he should be replaced by Murton and the OF shifted.

why would nomar be batting 3rd? thats lees spot. I think nomar and walker should alternate between 2nd and 6th.
