Why the hell would you leave a guy in getting rocked since the 1st inning?

The Blue Jays have a habit of this. They often do well against good teams and pitchers unexpectedly, then they even it up by getting blitzed by Tampa Bay and Kansas City. :-[

This brings back memories of the Buerhle thread when he gave up 5-7 runs and still was pitching into the 6-7th.

Whats Ozzie thinking?

Because he doesn't want to wear out his bullpen if the game is out of reach already.

Sounds like he was just trying to leave Garland in long enough to get another of those W's that the media glorify so much.

The game was never really out of reach, the farthest the game got was a 4 run lead for the Jays, that's not out of reach.

I was referring to what Ozzie was thinking. He wasn't thinking anything past the bottom of the 4th because he got tossed for arguing strikes and balls.

I guess consensus around here is that Harold Baines didn't do much of a job managing that game then.. !+)
