Abreu?

Postby jimmyvegas » Tue Aug 02, 2005 5:39 pm

His numbers have been pitiful since the All Star Break. Usually, I wont sit a guy of his caliber, but after sticking with him through a rough series in Colorado, Im contemplating benching him until he starts it up again. I picked up Sizemore to fill in. How are you Abreu owners feeling?

I'm keeping him in there.

But uhh.... there's a forum for "Who to start/bench". I'm pretty sure that's where this belongs.

If I sit a heatlthy Abreu under any condtions I'll get voted out of my League at the end of the year for managerial incompetence. And I'd deserve it. ;-)

I'd have to disagree with that. If you stick to that philosophy in any league you're probably not going to win anything...if a guy's in a slump, why let him bring your team down, no matter who it is? Especially if you have someone decent to fill in. I've made the decision to go with Sizemore until I see Abreu get back to form

Whenever I do that the stud comes through big-time. I think the home run derby screwed up Abreu's swing...that's the only explanation I can think of. I'm keeping him in there, but I'm in a points league so there isn't as much at stake I guess...If I sat him I'd put him back in the first time he got a 2 hit game...I wouldn't say that with a lot of guys, but with Abreu that's what I'd do. Good luck! ;-D

Funny thing is I'm in first by a mile. Go figure.

Pure luck, I suspect.

Had Hafner not been hurt the past few weeks, I'd be hard pressed not to replace Abreu for the time being with Geoff Jenkins or Grady Sizemore. Hopfully he turns it it around before I need to make that descision.
