I don't have a surprise on my roster, though I'm happy that Pierzynski has left his career HR mark in the dust (16, against previous best of 11, with two months left) after I waited last to pick a catcher (22nd round).
Nice value from Bonderman in the 10th.
Demise: Mota in the 7th round. Absolute wasted pick.
AJ is posting the most dingers he has had ever in season. Vmart is starting to come around the past few weeks. Every year their are suprise players at every position.

Off course there are. But we are talking about this year. Prior to the season beginning, it was logical to assume that AJ's homers would go up. After all, he did move to US Cell. The fact is that while, yes, VMart's #'s are improving, he has done nothing to date to distinguish himself from AJ.
And given their respective draft position, VMart can indeed be looked upon as, at least, a mild bust.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Millwood yet. So far, the guy has been fantastic for a ww starter or late round draft pick. While the wins have been hard to come by, and he was on the dl for a bit, his overally line is still quite impressive:
116ip, 91 k's, 3.18 era and 1.22 whip.
Patterson of course has been even filthier:
117ip, 113k's, 2.6 era, and 1.13 whip
I'd also like to give a shout-out to my staff anchor Rivera this year, who, while he hasn't been a surprise, is definitley having a career year and has gotten relatively little pub.

46 ip, 52 k's, .97 era and a .78 whip. Incredible
Mo has been absolutely ridiculous this year. If you throw out his first weekend against the Sox, his #'s are even more amazing. He has been an entirely different pitcher since he started to throw the 4-seamer, in addition to his great cutter. He is throwing better than he has since the 90's.
