And in my mind, Palmeiro is a Hall-of-Famer, no steroid conviction is going to change that. 500+ homerun and 3000 hit players don't come around too often.

But thats the whole thing, how do you think he got the 500 hr and 3000 hits ++???
The Mets will win the World Series this year.

We'll never know. Should be interesting when McGwire is eligible to get voted for in a couple of years as well.

You don't get that many hr and hits from taking steroids, this guy is one of the greats.

If you don't think steroids contributed to his 500 homeruns (and 3000 hits, because without the power he may not still be around) then that's pretty naive. Obviously something that gives you a muscular advantage will lead to an increase in balls traveling farther than they naturally would.

Did I say taking steroids didn't contribute? No. But how do you know anyway that Palmeiro took steroids all these years? If you consider yourself all-knowing or something than maybe you could let me know. He says that he didn't know what went into his body (though it's his responsibibility to know that).
Obviously, taking steroids would give him a muscular advantage, but isn't he only the 4th guy ever to achieve those 2 milestones? How can this guy not make the HOF? It would honestly be a travesty if he didn't.
There is no perjury, because the testimony was in March. This is August. No proof he was on them then. They aren't disclosing what exactly he tested for. I know it's unlikely, but it's possible he took them unknowingly. How dumb would somebody under suspicion be to continue, especially with a HOF on line. To me, Palmeiro is still a HOF. Until they remove every guy that cheated in some way in the HOF, it would be foolish to start now. There's still no proof how much if any, it might have helped him. Who's to say? Tim Kurjian is one of the few guys in the spotlight i respect. Very astute HOF voter. He said Palmeiro still gets his vote.
DM, Dawson was a nice player, but was a huge out machine. Even in his mvp year in 89, which he was far from it, his oba was barely over 300.

Mccain isn't going to go after anybody inless it gets him a few extra votes. In this case it would probably cost him a few Latino votes so I doubt he will do anything.
