... according to Francona. Clement is trying for tomorrow. It is great that he is recovered physically from that line drive. When I saw it I thought his season might be over. Now the question is, how does he handle getting on that mound (against an actual batter) psychologically. I heard he watched it 50 times. That takes guts! I'm thinking I will leave him on the bench for this first start just to make sure hes okay. If you have time, I'd be interested in others opinions on this. Thanks.
Just nine days after being hit in the head by a line drive, Matt Clement (P) Bos will start for the Red Sox on Thursday, according to the Boston Globe.
Matt Clement - S - Red Sox Matt Clement (head) will start on Thursday. ''He wanted to go [on his scheduled day] Tuesday and he was kind of adamant about it,'' manager Terry Francona said. ''I stepped in and said, 'No, Tuesday's out. If you feel good Tuesday you'll feel great Thursday.' We don't need to back him up any more than that. He's passed all his tests with flying colors with the medical people.'' Aug. 1 - 11:53 am et Source: Boston Globe
What is your opinions as far as whether he should be in the lineup on Thursday. Should I sit him out and see how he does? I'm a little weary of the psychological factor that hit will have on him.
