I'm very excited to watch Papelbon tomorrow as I love to see the Red Sox produce home grown talent instead of trading it away.

I papelbon going to stick though?

I hate to grab him, thne he gets sent to the minors. It seems like a short term deal to me.

Even if he dominates I think it's short term, unless the news on Clement and Miller is worst than we're being told.

yeah it's short term. Only way he gets called up again is to work in the bullpen (which will likely happen in September)

I like his outing today:

5.1 IP, 4H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 7Ks

His Fastball hit 95. In the 5th inning he had a 3-2 count with 2 outs and it was a borderline call. If he wasn't a rookie he probably would of gotten the call and the 2 walks wouldn't of happened after that. But other than that it was promising debut for the kid

i doubt they'll keep papelbon up too long since he just got to triple-a and they do have other options. He looks like a #2-3 type starter, a big strong horse.

Look into Jon lester, i think I like him better than papelbon

Radio in Boston are saying the Red Sox will keep Papelbon up to pitch him in the bullpen along with Mannyy Delcarmen. They'll send down Jeremi Gonzalez or Lenny DiNardo....We'll find out tonight when Jose Cruz gets here...

Lester had a great start last night, 9 IP, 9H, 2 ER, 6 K and the win. I like his upside more than Paplebon's, but it'll be a year or two.

But I like the fact Papal is sitcking around. Hopefully they send down Gonzalez.

There's no doubt that Hansen, Sanchez and Lester WILL be BETTER than Papelbon and Delcarmen but it's a good thing the Front Office isn't rushing them.

Well Papelbon has been optioned to Pawtucket to pitch in the bullpen. They say they want to get him ready for the stretch run in the Sox bullpen.
