I also agree with thehat. A .210 hitting OF (in a good hitter's ballpark) with back issues does not seem like the answer to Boston's OF issues. But, in a gamble for two mkiddling prospects, I guess it was worth a shot.

But isn't Cruz's BABIP something rediculously low? I'm at work and too lazy to look it up. Besides, despite the .213 BA, he's got a .347 OBP, so he can certainly take a walk. At the very worst he's Mark Bellhorn with less K's and more power.
