This has nothing to do with the Manny (non)deal. The Sox need a good, reliable outfielder while Nixon is down. Kapler, Stern, etc. won't cut it longterm. Oblique injuries tend to last.

I like it. Doesn't look like Perez or Bono will amount to a whole lot so it shouldn't come back to bite them at all.

Exactly the reasons I don't like it. With Winn gone, and no other CF on the market, the Yankees should've made a run at him.
