Why does everyone think that Prior should win the Cy Young this year when he has nowhere close to the best stats among NL pitchers? Brown is 9-1, 2.00 ERA, Williams is 8-1, 2.33 ERA, and Prior is 7-2, 2.88.
If the stats are close at all, Brown will win it as the sentimental favorite never having won it before despite a great career. Prior hasn't really paid his dues long enough for Cy contention this year, and will lose support because his confrontation with Bonds made him look like an arrogant, whiny punk.
