those are all top tier guys... then they have others floating around like Kelly Shoppach and Manny Declaremen... i'm sure TB is drooling over their pitchers ...
Honestly I would love if the Rays could just get Sanchez and Lester, IMO it would help more then Hanley and some lesser prospect. Also I don't believe Hansen can be moved this close to after being drafted. Don't minor leaguers have to be with their team a year after they are drafted?

Yes and no. That's the rule but the PTBNL is the loophole.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
OK, so Manny's main reason for wanting to get traded is because he wants more "off the field privacy". And he's going to get that in NEW YORK F'IN CITY????

Ah true, but in reference to Hansen it would seem doubtful since he was just drafted/signed ... oh yeah and he is a Borass agent so I doubt he would be high in the Rays list.

petit, sanchez, and lester would be better imo then hanley and petit..... 3 pitchers to go along with the rest of the drays pitchers would really set our pitching for many years.....
I agree, I was mainly just talking about the prospects from the Sox, so that's why I didn't mention Petit. I keep hearing people wishing it was Milledge too but i just don't see it, just to loaded in the OF with young talent. Petit, Sanchez, Lester, and some throw in (possibly INF) prospect .... would easily work for me.
And, that doesn't seem like a good haul for the Red Sox. I think the Mets do well, the D-Rays do well, but the Sox get screwed. If you're trading Manny to the Mets, get Beltran.
Sure, the Sox get some huge financial flexibility, but really hurt this year's team.
Oh, and Manny gets 10-5 rights this offseason, so that's why if he's going to be dealt, it has to be now.
If the Sox are picking up any of Manny's contract, then this deal is even worse.
I don't see it happening as presently constituted.

I'm unfamiliar with 10-5 rights. Is it a no-trade clause? Because if he wants to be out of Boston, why would it matter if he's dealt now or then? Unless you think he'll change his mind, which is always a possibility with that clown.
