Manny, Baez to Mets

I'd be sad to see Manny go for sure, but if the Sox are going to make a move the time is now. Manny will get 10-5 rights after this season, meaning he'll have the right to veto any trade he's in. Obviously there's no way we're going to replace his production, but Huff and Cameron would be a good start, and if the Mets were to eat a sizeable portion of Manny's contract this would probably be a great deal for the Sox in the long run.

I agree, I really don't see y he would want out of Boston because he has "Privacy Issues" and now he wants to go to New York.

Steve Stone had mentioned on PTI a scenario of ARam and CPAt to the Red Sox for Manny and Mueller.

Won't happen, I usually love what Stoney has to say but that trade would never happen.

Give me Hanley and I'll be happy with anything else. He'd give us a legit SS for the future. We could move Upton to the corner, have Cantu at 2nd, and Bankston at 1B. That's a darn good infield. Throw in Delmon, Crawford, Rocco, and Joey/Elijah, and you've got a pretty good team.

i was thinking cantu at 3b, hanley at 2b, and upton at SS.... either way with 3 shortstops in the infield,,, hopefully our defense(once upton gets his head straight) will be solid

I wouldn't be too excited over that list. I see almost no chance at all of the Sox giving up both Manny and 1 or more of their elite prospects for something like Huff and Cameron. People keep mentioning Hanley Ramirez but that's just wishful thinking. The Sox aren't stupid and while the D-Rays may very well take the Mets to the cleaners in terms of prospects it won't happen that way with the Sox.
