Any reason Valverde is not closing yet? Bruney has not been all that good. 6+ ERA c/mon....

I have no clue as to why Bruney is brought into any crucial spots. He's horrible.

Valverde is the best closer on this team now that he's healthy, and that includes Lyon even when he does return.

Ayuh. He has allowed just 1 ER since June 29, and since then ...

15 IP, 21 K, 1.00 WHIP

As to his health, he just pitched three nights in a row (4 innings) and amassed 9 K and no ER. The arm seems fine.

So who do you guys think will get the closer role? It sounds like Valverde. I have Bruney now, would you drop him for Valverde (who is on WW)?

Well, Melvin hasn't tipped his hand, so Bruney may need to do a little more to lose the job before there's a change. I've got Lyon on DL (somebody else grabbed Bruney), but I'm gonna dump Borowski for Valverde now that Baez hasn't been traded.
Just in case.
