Frank Thomas...done for the year!!!

Postby Soxcess11 » Fri Jul 29, 2005 2:17 pm

it was just reported on the radio here in Chicago that Frank Thomas is done for the year after reinjuring his surgically repaired ankle.

Wow...that is good to know. Anybody with confirmation? Dropping him will open up my DL spot for Hafner. Too bad, I'll miss his HRs and poor BA.

High risk, high reward. It was nice while it lasted. If all this is true, bet the R word is looming.

Thomas has a $10 million option for next year, but the Sox have a $3.5 million buyout for next year as well, I think it's pretty safe to say the Sox will be exercising their buyout option in the off season

Yep, it was good while it lasted. Great FA pickup that mashed enough HR's to keep my light-hitting team in contention in that category.

I could deal without him, but like others said; it was good while it lasted. He definitely helped out my team for the time he played with that nice HR:AB ratio. I can't really complain since I got him from FA, but he was a nice little bonus.

I think they're going to be making an even heavier push for Huff now.
