Huff to White Sox?

Postby Chicago RedSox » Fri Jul 29, 2005 10:33 am

KFFL said the White Sox are interested in Huff. Any ideas where he'd play if went there?

My assumption: Platoon with Everett as DH playing against all RHP.

That's just an assumption of course...anyone that tries to understand Ozzie Guillen is fighting a losing battle. ;)

The three-team deal between the Red Sox, Mets and Devil Rays is currently on life support, a source told ESPN.com.

''I don't know if it's completely dead,'' said an official of one of the three teams. ''But it's hit a roadblock … unless someone has some other thoughts.'' According to the official, the Red Sox asked for more from the Mets to complete the deal, which would have sent Manny Ramirez and Danys Baez to New York, Aubrey Huff and Mike Cameron to Boston and Lastings Milledge, Yusmeiro Petit, Anibal Sanchez and Kelly Shoppach to the Rays. It might have been that they wanted Braden Looper. However, the Mets would want to keep him and use him to close and Baez in a setup role initially.

please don't let him go to the White Sox!!!!!!!! :-o

I've had enough with Baker platooning Catcher(I used to have Barrett) and Guillen platooning OF(used to have Rowand)

What's with those managers in Chicago?

Either sox, I'd be pumped to see Huff in a better line-up. More RBI ops, more protection, less weight on his shoulders....

Do they use lighter bats in Boston or Chicago?!!? :-B

Seriously though, I agree. It'd be nice seeing Huff in a better lineup. But I don't like the sound of this platooning garbage. Huff's better than that...I don't think he should be platooned.

It has been suggested too that he might bump Joe Crede out of the lineup. As a Huff owner that would be my preference but again, Ozzie Guillen is a tough manager to figure out.
