Chacon to the Yanks

Rotoworld:
Yankees acquired RHP Shawn Chacon from the Rockies for RHP Ramon Ramirez and RHP Eduardo Sierra
Chacon's 39/36 K/BB ratio in 72 2/3 IP is discouraging, but he doesn't give up a lot of hits or home runs. He'll probably be a decent fifth starter for the Yankees, though the below average WHIP and poor strikeout rate will definitely limit his fantasy upside. Considering that GM Brian Cashman didn't give up anything the organization would miss, this is a good pickup. Jul. 28 - 10:32 pm et

the prospects arent that great but it does mean that chacon will get a start in NY which is worse than losing those two prospects

Um...who else would pitch on Saturday? They've got nobody. Even if he's terrible, he can't be worse than Henn, May and Redding were.

Rumor has it that the next pitcher the yanks will get is either Piniero or Meche(PLease be Piniero) in a Randy Winn Deal that would involve sending Pavano to seattle

There was already a report today that the Yankees aren't interested in Winn because they don't believe in him as a centerfielder. I'll find it if you give me a minute.

Latest News Jul. 28, 2005 - 10:36 am et
The Yankees are reportedly not as interested in Randy Winn as previously thought.
''Winn's a nice player, but they just haven't been convinced he can play center field for them,'' a source told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

And Pavano is going nowhere. Those rumors were ridiculous. Seattle asked about him but the Yankees said no immeadiately. How it turned into a possible trade is beyond me. I don't think there will be any trade between the Yanks and M's unless they can get Everyday Eddie but Seattle would likely want more than the Yankees can give.

The Yanks have already immediately rejected dealing Pavano.

I also believe you're not allowed to deal a guy on the DL, which Pavano is.

Don't see it happening unless Villone, Meche and Winn are all for Pavano (which Seattle probably wouldn't do).

All you Yankees guys, who do you see taking the closer's role once Mo is done?

If the past 5 years are any indication, it'll probably be K-Rod or Lidge...

Not saying that's what I want them to do, but that's been the Yankee way for the past 5 years. It'd be much sweeter if they can get the farm system in line by the time Mo leaves and can find a replacement that way.
