Who does TB get rid of to get DY in the lineup?

Seems to be a logjam in the outfield.

Gathright,
Crawford
Hollins
& isn't Gomez an outfielder?

hollins and gomez are easily replaceable,,,,and gathright is just keeping CF warm til rocco comes back next year..... in fact they should not even mentioned in the same sentence as delmon or crawford.... neither hollins or gomez is a part of the future of the rays......

the think is I've heard nothing but good things with Gomez and Hollins. Are they going to trade them?

Hollins is nothing but a 4th OF on this team in the future. He is now 31 and this is his first real time in the majors. Possibly he gets a shot with another team, not sure of his contract status, either way he is nothing more than your average OF.

Gomes on the other hand really isn't that good in the OF, he will most likely DH if he stays with the big club next year. He is pretty much your typical low avg./power hitter.

Well looks like Delmon won't get the call unless something unexpected happens:

According to the Tampa Tribune, not only is it unlikely that Delmon Young will be a starter for the Devil Rays at some point this season, he may begin next season in the minors as well.
''We just want to make sure we bring him up at the right time,'' general manager Chuck LaMar said. ''Could he play in the major leagues right now? I don't think there's any question about that, with his makeup, with his work ethic, with his instincts and exposure to the game. I've just got to make real sure that we're not hurting his overall development.'' Jul. 31 - 10:20 am et
