Soriano just had a setback in his rehab (shoulder, not the TJ elbow), and may not see the majors at all this season.
Putz seems like the logical pick given his success last season, and that team officials say he has the makeup to close ... but he's also been shaky in several situations with the game on the line this year. Keep in mind Putz was Melvin's golden boy last summer, but Hargrove has done nothing to tip his hand.

Bottom line, fantasy owners could get crossed up here ... the smart money sez pull a quick trigger on Putz, but it might be Nelson, Villone, Hasagawa (unlikely), Thornton (also unlikely), or the dreaded BBC.

Bummer about Soriano. I was planning to grab him in my deep keeper league for my DL slot (after I figure out about my DL situation as I still have Nick Johnson stashed there and waiting to see what's up w/ Mike Gonzalez). I'll probably still grab Soriano at some point given the way we handle keepers -- and this might turn out to work better for me -- but really would like to see Soriano put in some great innings for a month or so heading into next year, especially since I'm still in a 4-team (possibly 5 soon) dogfight and could use an extra closer of his caliber.
