Hey, I`m not sure if this is the right forum but I`m sure you`ll tell me. I have to do a 10 minute informative speech for my Verbal Communication class and was wondering if anyone knew of any good sites or have any idea of the history, and things like revenues, users, avg. age of fantasy players, income, price of pay site, ect. Any help would be great. Thanks!
More than 7 Million people participate in fantasy sports...
ComScore Media Metrix has released the results of an analysis of online fantasy sports activity, which reveals that more than 7m Americans visited the fantasy sports sections of Yahoo! Sports, Sportsline and ESPN between October 2003 and May 2004. These users viewed an average of more than 200 pages of fantasy sports content per month. ComScore's analysis of online fantasy sports usage found that an average of 4.7m Americans per month visited fantasy content at the three major providers, Yahoo! Sports, Sportsline and ESPN, between the period of analysis. Specifically, visitors spent an average of 93 minutes viewing fantasy content during the analysis period, compared to 71 minutes spent by the average sports category visitor viewing all content. Not surprisingly, the analysis found that visitation to fantasy sports content is highly seasonal. With all four major US professional sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL) in various stages of their seasons, October was the peak month in terms of audience size. More than 7.4m Americans, or about 5% of all US internet users, visited the fantasy sports sections of Yahoo! Sports, Sportsline and ESPN during October 2003 alone.
