NL - Carpenter, narrowly over Clemens

AL - Halladay, narrowly over Buehrle (Santana could sneak in, but would have to run the table like last year)

Maybe in a vote, but in purely who's pitched the best, Roger is leading.

Roger 17 win shares lead NL pitchers.

14 is the next closest.

Carpenter is at 12, 5 back, which is quite a bit.

Clemens will get the Cy simply because he's Clemens. Carpenter, Pedro, and Oswalt are just as deserving. Not to take anything away from Roger, but they're all about the same right now, but Roger being Roger pushes him over. Pedro is weird, Carpenter is unknown to many people, and Oswalt is overshadowed by Clemens.

AL is a tossup. It's a shame they can't award two NL Cy Youngs this year instead. It's really going to depend on what happens from here on out. Quite a few guys are in it. Halladay had a tight grip on it before getting hurt. He's still in it actually.

I think it will be Oswalt and Santana. Johan will have another great 2nd half.
