Jul 26 The Associated Press reports Boston Red Sox OF Trot Nixon (side) left the team's game Tuesday night, July 26, after swinging and missing at a pitch during the third inning. He appeared to be in pain and was holding his left side after the swing.

Turns out that he strained his oblique muscle. Nixon will have an MRI this morning to determine the extent of the injury. Those take a long time to heal. Some reports say that he could be out for at least a month and possibly the rest of the season.

Should I try and trade him before word gets out on the extent of the injury??

Nixon was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with an oblique strain, ESPNews reports.

Nixon injured himself in Tuesday's game. Adam Hyzdu likely will take over for Nixon in right field.
