Just left the field on a stretcher after getting hit by a Carl Crawford line drive to the head. Looked pretty bad :-t

That is awful news. I hope he is ok.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

Ugh. My team didn't need that. Hope he's OK. :,-(

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

Matt Clement - S - BOS

Matt Clement left tonight's game in the third inning after taking a line drive off his head.
Clement was taken off on a stretcher, but he was aware and talking at the end. Expect him to miss some time. The Red Sox are even more likely to acquire a starting pitcher now

If you haven't seen it yet, he got absolutely drilled square in the side of the head no deflection whatsoever.

Pavano got drilled earlier in the year and if I remember correctly didn't miss TOO much time.

After the obvious physical problems I'd be more worried about the mental aspect of him pitching again :-/
