MANNY WANTS OUT..... AGAIN

according to verducci, manny is requesting a trade claiming he does not like all the off field attention. i doubt anything will come of this but have there been any blockbuster deals with his name involved. the sox's offense would not look nearly as good w/out manny.

I knew it was only a matter of time before Manny and the Sox would get sick of eachother again. It's happened before, when they put him on waivers, but I believe that the reason they haven't tried to move him again is because he was the centerpiece of their World Series championship team. Despite his tremendous bat, and presence in the middle of the lineup, I don't think they like him at all and if they could move his contract and get another bat in his place such as Soriano, I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if they moved him.

That said, I don't expect them to move him with only a few days left until the deadline, but I do think he will be wearing a different uniform come next year. My best guess is that Manny will be playing in Queens because he's always wanted to play in New York. Although I don't think the Mets were exactly the New York team he wanted, it seems like a perfect fit. He goes along with the whole Spanish movement thing with the Mets, rejoins buddy Pedro, and supplies the big bat the Mets have been looking for.

Who knows though, this could just be all talk. I don't think he'll be as sick of Boston if they win the World Series again this year.

No way the Mets will end up with soriano and Manny. Thats abosultely crazy. The salary between Beltran and Manny would be more than a few small market teams. Throw in the salaries of Pedro, Soriano, Benson, etc and the Mets would be right up there with the Yankees in terms of salary. No chance.
