He's a team leader for the Nats, which has been a really nice surprise. But just when we all thought he was in order, he flips out during the Anaheim series. I think he's just passionate, and sometimes it allows his temper to get the best of him. I definitely don't put him in the same category as Sheffield. Guillen is the MAN.

Interesting. And the fairest observation I have read so far.

He didn't miss a single game after getting drilled on the wrist the other day. I think there's a word to describe this guy and it's not "selfish", it's "warrior".

I think everybody can agree he's a good competitor and very valuable to both the Nationals and fantasy baseball teams. I also think it would be pretty darn hard to all of a sudden say his reputation is undeserved. He was so bad last year that Anaheim sat him... DURING THE PLAYOFFS!!! Lots of managers dislike lots of players. It doesn't meant they are going to let their personal opinions hurt the team. It was not ultimately Sciosa's decision to sit Guillen. It was the ownership's. Now THAT'S BAD!!!
It's always good to see nice things written about somebody that has a bad reputation because NOBODY is all bad. In this case, I think the kind words and the "love" for Guillen is just wishful thinking. Anaheim isn't the only team that considered Guillen a liability.
The Nationals have been in first place almost all season when they were picked to be dead last. Don't be suprised when things go back to normal when fantasyland is over.
