Need some major help with my 3B

Postby beef » Wed Jun 11, 2003 9:36 pm

I need some major help in deciding what sort of trade to persue. Currently I have Tony Batista at 3B. I have an opportunity to get Huff or Chavez. I've already heard people's opinions on Chavez over Batista, but is Huff a major upgrade? Is Tony Batista that bad or should I just keep him? Or...Ensberg is on my wire, should I just use him? Just need to know which situation is the best to persue to improve my team.

My scoring system is as follows:
Single - 1
Double - 2
Triple - 3
Homer - 4
RBI - 1
Run - 1
Stolen Base - 2

With that point scheme, I'd rather have a guy that's really early in the lineup.

I'd take Ensberg over batista because he's likely to get more XBH playing in Orange Juiced Park.

So persuing Huff and Chavez is a waste?

You could probably get Huff cheaper the Chavez, just on name alone. I have never been a Batista fan, I would drop him for Ensberg, and go after Huff in a trade...Plus what I like about Huff you can also use him in the OF, if needed, or if you have to trade an OF to get him...you could be covered with Ensberg and Huff could go in the OF...

Did that make any sense?..I hope it helped...

Are you sure Huff is 3b eligible in your league? He isn't in mine (yahoo). I wish he was, hopefully he will be soon.

I'd grab Ensberg definitely. Why trade for a 3B when there is one for free?

Getting Huff wouldn't be a bad idea IF he is 3B eligible, just for his flexibility and he is still pretty cheap to acquire for what he delivers.

I pretty much completely agree with Bryan.

I'd take Ensberg over Batista.
