As a starter, you have to pitch 5 innings to get the win. It was the scorer's discretion, and s/he gave it to Lidge.

A starting pitcher can't get the win unless he pitches at least 5 innings. If he would have gotten the win but doesn't go 5, they give it to the reliever judged most effective by the scorer.

I just saw him in an interview on ESPN and he said it felt like it did the last time he hurt it. He said he tried to put a little bit on his pitches to Giambi and he felt it on the 3rd pitch to him. So this means another 15 day DL stint??? Oh, and why doesn't he get the win?

Groin injuries are strange, it could be something that heals well enough that he can make his next start, or he could go back on the DL for a couple weeks. Impossible to really speculate.

That's quite a difference from "day-to-day" to 4 to 6 weeks Longshot.... Please don't be right on this one. 4-6 weeks will crush many a fantasy owner.

I told you im not positive, I just thought I heard that being thrown around just after the game ended. The cameras were just filming the field and the announcers were speculating and I'm pretty sure one of them said he expects to take 4-6 weeks off (it wasnt justice, the other guy). I could very well be hearing things though, and like jdh said, groin injuries are very hard to predict and vary from case to case. It being Oswalts second, however, is not a good thing. Recurring groin problems can be devastating, making it impossible to get into a grove and pitch comfortably.
