Allright what do we think about Lee and the Triple Crown. Me, personally, I think he will win Avg, and Homers but will fail to win the rbi's. He def. has a chance at this point (unless he gets injured) to do it if you ask me, through 90+ games.
Either way, he's been the best Fantasy Player, hands down.
The guy is an absolute monster when it comes to those stats. He's just helping the Cubbies so much as a team and helping them really cick offensively, which is good for a player to do. Firstly, I dont think he will win the Triple Crown, only because of Albert Pujols.
Secondly, talking fantasy.....its funny. Me and my buddies had a fantasy draft before the season at one of our places and we made a night of it with some drinks etc. We had sheets of players you could choose from and everything was really organised. However half way thru the draft someone had accidentally crossed off Derek Lee (confusing him with when someone took Carlos Lee). I realised that Lee was on nobody's team and asked the question. To make it fair we gave it to the guy who was the rookie and his team (just quietly) looked pretty terrible. Of course, we didn't think that we were giving him the number 1 fantasy player Geez I wish I had pushed for him to have been allocated to my team somehow. Good times.

Heck, at this rate, he'll lose HR to his teammate Aramis. He'll probably win AVG. A 20 pt deficit is hard to lose/ make-up. RBI's he'll probably lose b/c the ChC #1 & 2 hitters have very poor OBP. Maybe that'll change if Nomar comes back to be Nomar. But I doubt it right away anyway.
My predicted end of season ranks for D. Lee.
AVG 1st, HR 2nd, RBI 4th.
Don't ask me who he'll get caught by, b/c I don't know.
Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't win a single category. Guys can go into slumps and averages can drop in a hurry, and don't look now but MCab has his average up to .350. The RBI category rides on Lee continuing to crush the ball with RISP, but I think it's doable. But my vote is no, he doesn't get it, but he comes close and still wins MVP (Just Pujols' luck, right? )
