That's a classic (and I'm old enough to remember watching it when it originally aired). I don't mind Rome most of the time but this was one of his classless moments!
Still holds the MLB record for Grand Slams with 23
As a former Rams fan I always like to comment on the Everett/Rome incident. Rome was/is a dick, but Everett was a total wuss and deserved the nickname. I remember one game, I think it was a playoff game against the Giants, where Everett was getting blitzed and instead of trying to scramble or stand in the pocket and take a hit, he dropped to the ground in the fetal position untouched. I lost all respect for him after that game and so did the media.

Whatever the cost it seemed to work. i know EYE had never heard of Jim Rome before that......He certainly wasnt a nationwide radio host by any means. It almost makes my cynical mind think he sued or settled and that money(along witht the 15 minutes of fame) gave him his jumpstart. Like him or hate him, he has become quite popular..
