Anyone in Cleve have anything on Hafner going on the DL?
The last I read, the Indians have to do it by Tues to make it retroactive.
My question is, does "by" Tues mean Monday or sooner, or can they do it Tues? I am in a weekly league with lineup changes by midnight Monday.
Jul 21 Indians 1B/DH Travis Hafner missed his fourth straight game because of post-concussion dizziness, according to the Associated Press.
Views: Ok, so is anyone panicking? We saw this happen earlier in the year to Twins first baseman Justin Morneau, who was initially listed as day-to-day before joining the disabled list. Now, we're not saying Hafner is headed for the DL, but we are beginning to wonder what is happening. Keep him on the bench until he appears in the lineup.

Even if he doesn't go on the DL he's still seeing stars, keep him on the bench this week.
He still might go to the DL, but they want to give him a few more days to see if his condition improves. He's been having some after-effects from the ball that hit him in the face, like dizziness and whatnot. Come Wednesday they may decide to DL him (retroactive to the 17th, I think...?), unless he shows improvement.
this is very worrisome. it's well documented that players who get beaned in the head/face are very affected by it. imagine getting a major league pitch right in your face....it's only natural to be hesitant to get back into the batter's box, nonetheless be aggressive. look at sosa - he stands a good 3 inches farther off the plate post-beaning then he did before it.
hopefully hafner comes back soon and remembers immediately that he was killing the ball before that jackass buerhle plunked him.
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- The Cleveland Indians placed designated hitter Travis Hafner on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday after he missed nine games because of a concussion.
The move is retroactive to July 17, so Hafner is eligible to come off the DL next Tuesday when the club begins a three-game series at home against the New York Yankees. He thinks he will be ready to play then.
