1. Prior (just flat out nasty stuff)
2. Morris (solid every time out and gives you K's and innings and wins)
3. Mulder (has been down as of late, but everyone knows that the A's are a second half team and could very well be number 2 by the end of the season on this list)
4. Vazquez (straight up K's)
5. Schmidt (a little bit biased on my part because I just don't care for him plus I think the others are better)

you are absolutely nuts to put schmidt anywhere below second on this list. look at the numbers. everyone seems to agree that prior is tops on the list, so lets look at how schmidt compares to prior:

prior:

7-2, 98k, 2.88 era, 1.11 whip, 4.26 k/bb, 9.78 k/9

schmidt:

5-2, 96k, 2.44 era, 0.98 whip, 4.36 k/bb, 10.16 k/9

schmidt is superior in every category to even prior. he has one less start so far, but he goes today at kc. i would imagine his numbers will improve some more after that.
