I just heard on espn 1000 chicago that A.J. was coming here for Marte and McCarthy . I like the deal but what is your guys opinoin on A.J.? I thought I saw him srikeout 14 guys in 62/3 inn a couple of starts ago but got pulled because he threw too many pitches.
I agree. This is why the trade deadline is great. The White Sox add another great arm to their staff. One that can help take them far into playoffs. While the Marlins are able to get a top pitching prospect, a great lefty reliever, and another un-named prospect. This makes sense for both squads, kudos to the GMs.

If this trade does go through, the White Sox will be the team to beat in the playoffs, which are usually dominated by pitching. They will be able to go 4 deep ... Buehrle, Garland, Garcia, and now Burnett. Nobody else can match these starters.
El Duque and Contreras can find their rightful spots on the bench.
Don't get too excited. How many Burnett rumors have come around the past few weeks? Seems to be a new one every day. But I do agree that this could really put the Sox in a position to be legit World Series contenders, not that they aren't already. That would be one mean rotation.

AJ pitched the 1st. But I do like the prospects of having him in the AL Central rather than the East.
