Without knowing all the specifics it's hard to see what SD gains out of this deal.
Maybe Eaton is hurting more than they are leading on?

Wow...this really boosts Ponson's value. I bet his ERA drops to 5.00 because of this.

Buster Olney reports that Nevin has a limited no-trade clause and he hasn't approved the deal yet. The Orioles are on the list of teams he does not want to be traded to.
