Without knowing all the specifics it's hard to see what SD gains out of this deal.

Maybe Eaton is hurting more than they are leading on?

If I read correctly, Nevin has a no-trade which he used a while back when they wanted to send him to Cincy for Griffey. As a hitter I would think he'd want to leave SD to go to Baltimore but he might not want to. Stay tuned I guess.

He can block trades this year to 8 teams, but I'm not sure which

Buster Olney reports that Nevin has a limited no-trade clause and he hasn't approved the deal yet. The Orioles are on the list of teams he does not want to be traded to.
