Just took over another team. Badly need help.

This is my brothers team. He has had some personel issues to deal with and as a result he hasn't put much effort into it. he has asked me to manage it for a little while. Needless to say I am new to fantasy baseball and am having trouble managing my own team. i would like to surprise him with a nice fresh team, but i don't know where to begin. If any one has any suggestions I would be very appreciative. Thank you.

try to trade for a better second baseman..womack is pretty much useless

Casey Blake? That will kill your average.

I would suggest trading Tejada to someone who can package in some infield help. try to get as much as possible to don't jump on the first offer.

Most of your hitters look like waiver wire pickups but you have solid pitching

Move Chipper to third and drop Casey....find a suitable OF replacement on waivers.

but to sum everything up your offense is weak but pitching is Great..not perfect but great. Don't expect to get your brother to the top but you could probably be doing better by taking out the garbage.
