Do I need help at C and OF? Should I trade pitchers?

Postby dan9124 » Fri Jul 22, 2005 11:43 am

Here's my roster. I'm pretty strong in pitching and have a trade pending that would send Overbay to another team for Francisco Rodriguez. But do I need someone else at catcher? and is Figgins going to play regularly for the rest of the year? i heard on the radio he's just filling in while others are injured. thanks for the input.

Has the Overbay-for-Rodriguez tradebeen accepted? Good deal for you if so. You could certainly do better than Hernandez at catcher, but unless you're getting a big upgrade I wouldn't worry about him very much. I would try and upgrade your outfield though - you could use a Jason Bay-type at the least. I'd consider packing Green or Biggio with a pitcher for a more solid OF.

What positions do you play - is there no SS in your league? If your league only has 2 bench spots and 1 utility spot I think you should be able to find some good players on the FA list.

Oops, I just realized if you're trading Overbay then Green's gonna be your 1b - I'd be looking to upgrade that position then as well. If you can take a hit with your starting pitchers and get some fill-in FAs you might consider moving Peavy in a 2-for-1 or Bonderman straight up for a solid 1b/OF.

if you offer dunn to someone in your league i bet you'll get a lot more than what he's worth. sure he's got homeruns but that's about it, and if i remember correctly i think your team has enough of those anyway. but whatever, if all you have time to do is come on here and posts meaningless crap that doesn't help anyone, that's your problem.
