He supposed to have had some testing on Monday that would give some indiciation when he would be back, if at all this season. So far I haven't heard anything.

Jul 22: Nationals.MLB.com's Bill Ladson reports Washington Nationals 1B Nick Johnson (heel) took batting practice and ran the bases gently Thursday, July 21, and is pain-free when walking, but he's still sore when he runs.

this is the latest i've heard about it.

It was a bruised heel! Guys like Gary Sheffield play with jammed fingers, shoulder strains, etc. Nick Johnson is a fantasy liability in any draft.

Sure, I picked him up and loved the first half numbers. I don't care if he's coming back. He won't be on my team.
