Just bought a wood bat, and the geniuses at the store put those impossible to peel stickers on the bat. You know, the kind that rip and leave the white stuff/glue behind when you try to peel them. Does anyone know what I could use to get them off without damaging the wood? Thanks
never had to get'em off a bat but i got those stickers off of other things use a wet towel and rubbing it off. also, there is a product called goo gone or something to that effect that is supposed to get stuff like that off.
Yeah, that would probably work...not sure how it affects wood though.
I work at a chemical distributor (I am a degreed Chemist), and I make all sorts of stuff for personal use. I know that when my friend needs to get stickers off his Gamecube games he asks me to make up my special sticker remover stuff. It's essentially 95% lighter fluid and 5% orange fragrance. The orange stuff isn't needed of course...that's just for the smell.
So, as long as you don't light the bat on fire after you use it, it will probably get the sticky stuff off for you with no problems.

Wet towel worked great and then I used some vaseline to get the extra goo off. Will pick up that goo gone stuff though for the future

Sounds like your friend gets stickers on his GameCube quite a bit? Bet that makes an interesting story.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

The stuff you speak of ("Goo Gone") is made up of exactly the two components I already described - lighter fluid (known in the field as VM&P Naphtha) and orange masking fragrance (known as d-Limonene). My company sells both of these products. I found the formula on the Internet.
As far as the GC games...he buys them at used game stores like Game Stop, and the stickers they put on them with the sale price are a bugger to get off. He doesn't want them on there, so he asks me to make some of that stuff to get the sticker off. All you do is put it on a paper towel, rub it into the sticker a little bit, wait a few seconds, and then just work it off with a fingernail. He buys at least 3 games a month.
