Ok i see no love for the mets but seriously we have picked up. Were now in 3rd, 3 games over .500 and 4.5 games back of Washington/Atlanta. We head into a 3 game set vs the slumping Dodgers, who have lost 7 of their last 10. Then we go to Colorado where our offense should explode, i also see it as beltrans time to explode. Then we got 3 games at Houston and Milwaukee. I think we can pick up 9 out of 12 right here, and that could put us in first.
Do any of you guys think the mets have a chance at winning the NL east this year?
The Mets will win the World Series this year.
Yes I do. They certainly have the talent. Will they? That's another story. They swept a solid Padres team, but now when it's time to win against inferior teams, they must not stumble. They have many times in the past in these situations, but if they don't falter, this could be the turning point of the season and a time when they catch fire and never look back.
agreed, they did a good job sticking around .500, especially after the 0-5 start, but now it's time to make that run that puts them 10 over .500 and then take control of the division. washington is falling fast and atl will cool off..lets go mets!

They should at a minimum take 4 of the next 6 games. If they do, that will be a great sign because, like Pokerplaya was saying, this team has one bad quality that this organization has had the last couple of years and that is playing to the level of the competition. If they can play as well as they did against SD while playing LA and COL they will be in great shape.
Let's Go Mets!
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Need another big performance out of Benson today. We have to take 2 out of 3 against the Dodgers and then beat up on Colorado. $ in Houston next weekend is going to be tough.
