Someone just dropped him in my league. I'm in need of saves and I have an open DL spot. Is it worth picking him up?

For sure if you have an open DL spot. He should be back in a few weeks. Hopefully Schilling and Johnson will be coming back around the same time as well, creating many save opportunities for Mantei. I have Mantei on DL and picked up Valverde while he is out.

He's eligible to come back on Saturday, but he hasn't been able to throw without pain yet so he's going to be delayed at least a week past that. RJ and Schilling both won't be back until late July at the earliest. If the DBacks are totally out of the running by then, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't risk bringing them back and just shutting both of them down for the season.
