anyone else impressed by him so far? I've had him since shortly before Kolb imploded and even though he's been on my bench most of the time, i gotta say that he's been pretty consistent. his Ks and such haven't been great, but he has hardly blown a save. i don't see kolb getting the job back at this rate (fingers crossed), and i'm about to move Reitsma off of my bench into a starting RP role. as far as i'm concerned, he's been one of the best of the replacement RPs.
I drafted him expecting Kolb to implode. And he didn't disappoint. He's been in the starting lineup since it was clear that Kolb is a monumental failure.
Kolb Saves, indeed. He saves his money because he'll never get another big contract at this rate.

You mean never get another big-league contract at this rate. Watching him and Shingo is hilarious.

Until about the past couple of weeks or so, Reitsma has hardly been piling on the saves...and he went through a bad stretch then though nothing like the garbage we are seeing from Brazoban now. Reitsma is a mid to low-mid tier closer. I could see him sitting if you need Ws more than Saves and if you have a couple of stud closers on your team.
I think Reitsma is a solid option for saves. I picked him up a while ago, when it seemed clear to me that Kolb wasn't gonna make it, and he was pretty solid. He got beat up a bit recently, but that was in part because of terrible luck (infield hits, bloop singles, etc.). He has since settled down. He's got good stuff and one of the best pitching coaches in baseball to help.
I don't have him any more because I traded him and Hermanson for Sheets about a month ago (I was way ahead in saves and still am).
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

I don't know if Kolb is that far away from getting his job back. The Braves are using him in set-up situations often now, and if you look at his stats over the past month, they are a good deal better than Reitsma's.
Kolb: 11 1/3 IP 2.38 ERA, WHIP 1.02
Reitsma: 11 2/3 IP 4.63 ERA, WHIP 1.37
Kolb's main problem earlier in the season was control. He seems to have gotten that back, with only 2BB in the last month. Same thing can be said for Reitsma.

I think he's very underrated then..... he's not gonna be a replacement for your rosters #1 or #2 closer, but he's scrappy and is playing on winning team. The ratios aren't bad 29K/7w and 1.17 makes him worth a look.
