cano's obp is .331 while winn's obp is .337 while cano's avg is .308 and winn's avg is .270. if you wana go by numbers.. i would plug cano into the 2 slot in a heartbeat. the problem with most of non-yankee fans in this thread is that you just havent seen enough of cano to know how good he is. this isnt just a freak hot streak he's in. he has a hit practically every game. sure he swings at bad pitches every so often but ive seen every rookie do that including the up and coming superstar david wright. so if winn comes to the yankees he'll prbly be put in the bottom of the lineup.

Granted, Cano has more power and is probably a better hitter... But his plate discipline is just awful, especially for a #2 hitter.

hey buddy speaking of awful on base percentages how about that reyes baby....get real and worry about your own team, what place are you boys in?

Page 5 of a discussion on Randy Winn and whether or not he belong sin the 2-hole over Cano...Geez.

You talk about an utter waste of bandwidth. What is next, a discussion on whether Olivo is a better C than Dan Wilson?

he has two SEPERATE hit streaks of 11+ games this season

Its great to know that nobody knows why Cano's obp is low.
Let me ponder this one...
HE HITS BEHIND JETER AND BEFORE SOME RANDOM BUM NAMED SHEFFIELD, Arod, or Matsui. He gets FASTBALLS and pitches to SWING at people (for OBVIOUS reasons).

Which is exactly why his average is so high! He gets great pitches to hit and gets base hits. Whoopdedo. There are lots of hitters in the major leagues who can hit fastballs that get lots of the plate and get singles/doubles. Cano, in reality, is an average hitter who benefits from a perfect situation.
