Because ChiSox have so many bodies to play. Having both Everett and Thomas is causing a logjam in the OF. The good news is that when Pods does play, he usually steals a weeks worth in a game or two. So it's all good. Also, his average is nice and high as well.
With Scott Podsednik and Joe Crede, bothered since early July by a pair of herniated discs, out of the lineup, Pablo Ozuna started at third and batted leadoff for Chicago. Everett played left and batted fifth. Podsednik pinch hit for Ozuna in the eighth, and Crede played third in the ninth.
I don't mind, I like to convince myself it keeps speedsters fresher come August/sept. I just need to be a bit more dilligent in checking if he is playing that night or not.......

Hopefully Pods will be "back" to normal soon.
Pods is not hurt at all. I would love to see a link for that report because it's simply not accurate. Crede has herniated discs and Dustin Hermanson has back spasms. Those are the only two players on the Sox with back problems. Pods didn't play today due to the combination of facing left-handed start Nate Robertson and to make time for Dye, Everett and Thomas in the same lineup. Pods is not hurt what-so-ever.
