Why Does Podsednik Get So Many Days Off?

Postby FrogStamp » Wed Jul 20, 2005 1:37 pm

Why is this? I hate checking the lineup and not seeing his name. It makes me sad.

Because ChiSox have so many bodies to play. Having both Everett and Thomas is causing a logjam in the OF. The good news is that when Pods does play, he usually steals a weeks worth in a game or two. So it's all good. Also, his average is nice and high as well.

If you ran that much you'd be tired too.

It's the White Sox way. Their entire OF seems to get breaks to get Everett and Thomas both time at DH, and to keep fresh.

Here's your answer right here:

With Scott Podsednik and Joe Crede, bothered since early July by a pair of herniated discs, out of the lineup, Pablo Ozuna started at third and batted leadoff for Chicago. Everett played left and batted fifth. Podsednik pinch hit for Ozuna in the eighth, and Crede played third in the ninth.

Hopefully Pods will be "back" to normal soon.

Thanks guys. I hope this back problem won't affect his SB. Otherwise, I'll try to deal him.

Pods is not hurt at all. I would love to see a link for that report because it's simply not accurate. Crede has herniated discs and Dustin Hermanson has back spasms. Those are the only two players on the Sox with back problems. Pods didn't play today due to the combination of facing left-handed start Nate Robertson and to make time for Dye, Everett and Thomas in the same lineup. Pods is not hurt what-so-ever.
