He's done a great job of keeping himself in the game and not letting small setbacks distract him. He has really matured as a pitcher. That said, he's not doing all that great. RFK is an extreme pitchers park. It's crazy like Petco and maybe even more extreme.
Check out Patterson's (or any other Nat pitcher) splits. So far, 1.95 ERA at home and 4.19 ERA on the road. On top of that, Patterson (and his owners) have been lucky that he's pitched 69 IP at home while only 35 IP on the road. That has certainly skewed him numbers favorably.
