does anyone have any info outside of personal conjecture as to the likelihood/conditions of clemens returning next season?

if so, how does he rate as a keeper pitcher?

ok.....personal conjecture would be fine, just trying to get a feel for a potential trade.....also for keeper ratings i just mean a simple " top 5.....top 10.....top 50 " type of answer. thanks

My guess. He will play next year. He's too good not to and this year has to be killing him to pitch so well and have so few wins. I doubt he wants to end his career that way. I'd say he will play another year. ;-D

As to rankings, way too early for that just yet. Tons of season left to play. B-)

Agreed. I feel he will be back next year. Just so he can play in a ST game w his son maybe :-D

. But w his deal w HOU as far as travel etc., why retire? And HOU should only be better next year.

I kind of agree. Clemens is kicking butt this year, and though there will be pull for him to go out on top, he's been so good there's no reason for him to retire. The only hitch could be if he wants to get more than he's making this year. ;-)

He's got a good deal going in Houston, so I see no reason why his family or other similar issues would get in the way.

i think he will be back for another year due to the way he has pitched this year,,,,, and you would have to put him down as a top 10 SP easily if he does come back...... ;-D

top 10 i like to hear.....sounds like if i kept him and harden (we keep 6) that would be a solid core of guys for next year.

side note: i dont see houston really improving anytime soon unless they trade for some talent and make a run at the wildcard, but i guess berkman full strength, a more experienced taveras, and rocket they could contend again next season.

I say he returns, especially with his son getting drafted. He just gets better w/ age.
